Metallurgy

316 Marine-Grade vs. 304 Standard

Our 316 marine-grade stainless steel alloy is engineered with a critical 2-3% molybdenum content. This specific addition provides superior resistance to chloride corrosion, making it indispensable for installations in coastal areas, high-humidity environments, and applications exposed to aggressive chemicals, ensuring long-term structural integrity and aesthetic preservation.

Conversely, 304 stainless steel, while offering excellent general corrosion resistance and workability, lacks the molybdenum found in 316. It is highly suitable for interior architectural elements and less demanding environments, but its use is not recommended where direct exposure to salt spray or strong corrosive agents is anticipated.
